Before getting involved in any extra-curricular organizations, whether it be something simple as the floor representative in your dorm, or something serious, like a fraternity/sorority, sports team, or performance group, you need to ask yourself two questions: “Why am I doing this?” and “How will I deal with the affect on my studies?”

I remember the giggles and snickers when first learning about male and female body parts in junior high health class. All of us were curious to know more, but we had to play it cool and act like we already knew, so we made jokes and played around. Unfortunately, for many college students, this is still the prevalent attitude.
